Actress Jean Smart welcomed a new baby to the family in 2009 as she and her husband Richard Gilliland adopted a 10-month-old girl named Bonnie from China.

The 58-year-old star broke the big news during an appearance yesterday on The Bonnie Hunt Show, revealing that she, her husband and their 19-year-old son Connor traveled to China last year to bring home their daughter Bonnie, who is now 18 months.

Despite their 18 year age difference the proud mom says that her son and daughter are "so smitten," but laughingly adds, "We thought they were going to be closer in age when we first started this!"

China actually has an age restriction for anyone over 50 that cannot adopt a child younger than 2; however, they let the age range slide when adopting a child with special needs.

The release of the organ repossession action flick Repo Men has some crying "copycat." Including Repo! The Opera director Darren Bousman, who claims the projects are way too similar.

Fans of loopy banter and insane violence rejoice — Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, of Zombieland fame, are writing the Deadpool movie. This means the "Merc with a Mouth" film could actually be clever.

Variety announced that Fox has selected Zombieland writers Reese and Wernick to bring Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool film to life.

While there's "no timetable" set the trade speculates that if the script is done by the summer, Reynolds will already be in superhero shape from filming Green Lantern and has a window of opportunity, so what's to stop a quick turnover? Well besides piling two Ryan Reynolds comic book movie releases on top of each other that is.

The writers stated that they wanted to stay true to the mythology of Deadpool, and if their previous Zombieland work is any indication of their wit, then they are a perfect fit for the fourth-wall-breaking, Bea Arthur-loving character.

Get ready for another season of Simon and Paula’s signature bickering — on the US adaptation of The X Factor.

Paula Abdul has allegedly inked a $4.5 million contract to bring her loopy commentary to the judges panel on an American version of Simon’s hit UK talent show, The X Factor. That’s interesting, considering the star walked away from her post at American Idol because she failed to secure the $10 million-a-year payday she was vying for.

Apparently, Paula isn’t very good at gambling, is she?

A FOX tipster revealed to The National Enquirer’s Mike Walker: “Simon flew Paula to London and wined and dined her relentlessly over the course of several days, even introducing her to everyone who works on X Factor. But what really clinched the deal was Simon’s pledge that she wouldn’t have to deal with all the nonsense and infighting that she hated on Idol.”

The X Factor America will premiere in 2011.

On The Jay Leno Show tonight, Jay Leno made a few jokes, mostly at NBC’s expense, in response to rumors that the network would be canceling his talk show after a bout of low ratings. While I’m not normally a fan of Leno, as I believe he’s too much of a kiss ass and the definition of “safe” comedy, tonight he was in rare form. (LOL OK, SOURCE)
